On June 1st, the 14th National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition "Zhengda Cup", sponsored by the Chinese Society of Business Statistics, named by Zhengda Group, and hosted by Hefei University of Technology, held its undergraduate and international student finals at the Hefei University of Technology Gymnasium. One team from our school that was shortlisted for the on-site defense segment of this finals achieved a new breakthrough in the competition and won the first prize in the country.
This competition will officially launch on September 26, 2023. There are a total of 1063 universities in the mainland region, including 128 “Double First-class university”, 110 211 schools, and 38 985 schools. A total of 295000 students actively registered to participate. After seven months of selection through enterprise competitions, school competitions, and provincial competitions, a total of 240 undergraduate teams and 69 international student teams in China have successfully made it to the national finals of the undergraduate group. They will compete for the level awards of this competition and qualify for the final of the 13th Cross Strait University Student Market Survey Competition.
Our undergraduate competition team, consisting of Chen Shiyu, Chen Zihan, Zhang Yachao, Tian Yunyun, and Mao Yuman, won the first prize in the national competition for their work titled "A Long Journey to See the Beautiful Scenery, Enjoying a Special Tour in Three Places in Two Days". The research was conducted by Wang Chen, Yang Jianxiong, and Huang Lan, who were responsible for investigating the demand and satisfaction of the segmented group for "Special Forces style Tourism" among college students! And successfully advanced to the open defense competition, creating the best result for the School of Statistics since participating in the competition!

Since the launch of the competition in September 2023, the teaching team of the School of Statistics has actively organized competition promotion, training, and defense. The participating teachers and students have worked together and worked hard, achieving historic breakthroughs in the competition, fully demonstrating the excellent qualities and spirit of our school's teachers and students who dare to challenge and strive for progress. The National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition has been included in the Ministry of Education's university subject competition ranking list for five consecutive years, and is one of the two major A-class national competitions in the field of statistics in China. The competition is aimed at guiding college students to innovate and practice, improving their professional practical abilities in organization, planning, investigation, implementation, data processing and analysis, cultivating their sense of social responsibility, service awareness, market sensitivity and teamwork spirit. It is also a multi-party education platform for statistics science supported by the government, recognized by enterprises, actively participated by university teachers and students, and highly interconnected across the Taiwan Strait.
