On the morning of July 23, 2016, Cai Zhimin, director of Social Science and Culture Department of National Bureau of Statistics was invited to conduct investigation and research at School of Statistics of CUIT, accompanied by Liang Weihua, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics. Lai Tingqian, party secretary of CUIT warmly received them. Other related leaders from Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics, Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Statistics, and persons in charge of Chengdu Youyi Data, Co., Ltd. also participated in this activity. Besides, Liu Dunhu, deputy director of Science and Technology Department of CUIT, and leaders of School of Statistics participated in the reception.

Director Cai delivered a speech on the scope of science and technology statistics at colleges and universities as well as the validity of the Internet survey. He recognized and highly praised the achievements of the Key Laboratory of Statistical Information Technology and Data Mining of the National Bureau of Statistics and the special investigation in Sichuan Province entitled “Public Entrepreneurship and Innovation”. Meanwhile, he expressed the hope that the School of Statistics of CUIT could provide more support for the National Bureau of Statistics to establish the cooperation platform among government, university, and enterprise.
